The gardens contain the remains of an Augustinian priory founded in 1153 on a site next to the Holy House. Woodland and riverside walks with seasonal bulbs and autumn colour beside the ruins of one of England's most famous medieval pilgrimage shrines.

Visitor Opening Times

2017: 30 Jan-5 Mar, Snowdrop Walks, 10am–4pm. 6-26 Mar: Mon-Fri 11am–1pm, 2pm-4pm; Sat & Sun 11am-4pm. 27 Mar-5 Nov 11am-4pm. Friends free access includes gardens, Shirehall Museum and Prison. No free access on charity days.
