Mansion in striking maritime situation designed in Roman Thermae style by Robert Adam. His equally monumental wings were subsequently demolished, but replaced in 1890 by William Young. Interior includes famous Marble Hall (of Staffordshire alabaster). Outstanding art collection.

The main gates and house open at 1pm with the first tour starting at 1.15pm followed by 2pm, 2.30pm, the last tour is at 3.15pm.
