Artist in Residence at Levens Hall

Rowan Barnes-Murphy is currently immersed in a fantastic collaboration with Levens Hall as the Artist in Residence. This position has culminated in an exhibition of original artworks and prints covering three large rooms at the Hall, which is scheduled to run throughout the whole 2015 season.  Information about the exhibition can be found here, with the complete exhibition being featured on Rowan’s website.

Having spent some time at the Hall at the end of last year Rowan has created a fantastic body of work, inspired by the house and gardens, comprising over 40 pieces of work which will be exhibited in the Bellingham Buttery Tea Room. The pictures will be available to buy with prints, cards and books also available in The Potting Shed Shop.

Rowan has been a freelance illustrator for many years with commissions from clients in the UK, New York and around the world, including Moet Chandon, Punch and the New York Times, among others.  His work has appeared in galleries around the world and he has also had many of his own books published.  Rowan is now starting out on a new artistic journey, having been commissioned to draw and paint homes for private clients.
