The HHA believes in the importance of involving the next generation of owners in all aspects of its activities from an early age. Our Successor Membership includes people of all ages who will one day take over the responsibility of owning an historic property, whether this be a great estate or a smaller manor house.
The Successors are represented on the HHA's Council and very often on Regional Committees. A small Successor Committee guides the series of events planned specifically for Successor Members each year including the Annual Reception which has been held in recent years at Spencer House, the private and public rooms of Apsley House and at Tate Britain. More recently, C Hoare & Co have generously hosted a Reception for Successor members and their guests at the Bank's premises in Fleet Street. The programme of events for Successors has also included"behind the scenes" Study Days at Blenheim Palace and Broughton Castle and at Newby Hall and Ripley Castle. Farrer & Co have also hosted seminars at their offices in Lincoln's Inn Fields. Successor Members are also invited, with Full Members, to the Association's main programme of seminars and to the National and Regional Annual General Meetings.
Successors receive copies of the Association's quarterly magazine Historic House, which contains a Successors Page, the Annual Report and Directory and List of Members and membership cards entitling them to free access to around 300 HHA Member properties which are open to the public.

Successor Membership is available to single individuals or couples and is not dependent upon the parent property currently being a Full Member.
