The Tourism and Commercial Development Committee monitors issues affecting houses and gardens open to the public, including those involved with concerts, events, corporate entertaining, weddings, film locations or accommodation.

The Committee's members include owners and managers of such properties, large and small. They consider all matters relating to commercial activity including publicity, promotion, regulations, planning, and retail activity.

Representatives of the Tourism and Commercial Development Committee liaise closely with VisitBritain, VisitEngland, VisitScotland, VisitWales and the English regional and sub-regional tourism bodies. They also work closely with officials in the National Trust, English Heritage and the Association of Leading Visitor Attractions.
