HHA President
The President serves a four year term. Edward Harley has been President of the HHA since November 2008. He owns Brampton Bryan Hall, a Georgian house in Herefordshire, which he and his wife, Victoria, have restored. In the garden of the house is Brampton Bryan castle, the original home of the Harley family until it was stormed by Royalist troops in the Civil War, in 1643. Edward Harley is a former Chairman of the HHA’s Political and Taxation Committee.
Deputy President
The Deputy President serves a four year term. Richard Compton has been Deputy President of the HHA since November 2008. He owns Newby Hall in North Yorkshire, originally a Christopher Wren house, subsequently extended, with a very fine collection of art, statues furniture and tapestries. The house is known as much for its award winning gardens, which attract more than 100,000 visitors annually. Richard Compton also serves on the HHA's Tourism and Commercial Development Committee and was Chairman of the HHA's Yorkshire Region from 1997 to 2008.
Honorary Treasurer
The Honorary Treasurer has no formal term, but is subject to annual re-election. In November 2009 William Parente succeeded Sir Nicholas Bacon, who had held the position since 1996. William Parente's house is Welbeck Abbey in Nottinghamshire. Mr Parente is also actively involved in the creative arts industries.
