Civil Ceremony and Wedding Reception
Weddings can take place at The Dairy, a private building on the Waddesdon Estate. The beautiful grounds and Dairy combine to create an unrivalled atmosphere in which you and your guests can enjoy good food, excellent wines and friendly, professional service.
The Dairy at Waddesdon Manor was built as part of the estate created by Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild at the end of the 19th century. It was a working Dairy housing the Baron's prize-winning herds of cattle. The buildings and garden fell into disrepair, but in 1989 Lord Rothschild initiated an extensive restoration programme at Waddesdon Manor, which included the Dairy and its Victorian water gardens created by James Pulham in the 1880s.
Weddings are held at The Dairy throughout the year. In winter you can enjoy roaring fires and a welcoming glass of mulled wine, and in the summer celebrate with champagne in the courtyard or on the lakeside terrace. Guests enter the Dairy via the tranquil inner courtyard leading to the West Wing overlooking the lake, home to an extensive collection of waterfowl. Running along its entirety is a wide terrace with two pavilions built out into the lake; the perfect setting for summer drinks receptions.
The Dairy is licensed for civil wedding ceremonies in the West Hall, the Wintergarden and outside under the cover of the lakeside Pavilions. The West Hall: Dining - maximum 110, Ceremony - maximum 140. Wintergarden: Dining - maximum 60, Ceremony - maximum 110. The Pavilions: 140 for a drinks party combined with the Terrace, Ceremony maximum 60.
