The Gardens and Castle at Lowther have lain abandoned for 70 years, and in 2011 opened to the public.
Restoration work is now underway to restore the castle ruins, convert a large courtyard to visitor facilities and recover and restore 130 acres of garden.
Every day 10am-5pm, closed Christmas Eve & Christmas Day. New visitor centre opens in April.
