20th century gardens designed by the Loder family following the principles of William Robinson. With naturalistic woodland planting begun in 1906, the 25-acre gardens are full of acid-loving rare plants, with woodland vistas created by ponds and open clearings.
2012 17 March-28 October: daily except Wednesdays, 1-5pm (last admission 4.30pm). Coaches/guided tours anytime, by appointment only.
