Jacobean house incorporating a medieval hall, Tudor staircase and later additional carvings, furniture, porcelain and contrasting decoration, reflect its fascinating history. Set in 12 acres of wonderful gardens and surrounded by tranquil parkland, the house is well placed for access from junction 9, M20 and for nearby houses and gardens. Visitors are taken in small groups on a guided tour of the house and are free to explore the gardens at will. Larger groups are welcome on any day by arrangement.

Tours of the garden can be arranged with the Head Gardener. Please contact us for full prices of afternoon teas, lunches including ploughmans and sandwiches and cream teas.

There is a pre-planned route of activities in the house, gardens and park. Tours of the grand rooms and attics show how the house has evolved over time. Themed walks in the garden including pond dipping, identifying trees, collecting vegetation and parkland management can be arranged. Outdoor space for sporting events including cross country runs.
