Civil Ceremony and Wedding Reception
Weddings: A mile from the nearest road approached by an ancient 3/4 mile Lime Avenue, Kentwell sits on its moated island surrounded by gardens and open parkland. There is a choice of handsome rooms of various sizes inside the Hall. In addition, Kentwell has its own selection of tents and Tudor style pavilions, while large marquees may be hired. All can be used in conjunction with the Hall.
The Overcroft, in the nearby Stableyard is a huge (2,500 sq ft) oak boarded and oak timber-framed first floor space which can accommodate large numbers for weddings. Kentwell offers a peaceful and tranquil sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of modern life. The Gardens and Grounds make some open air receptions especially enchanting.
We specialise in bespoke weddings - tailored to each couple's requirements. We can cover everything from a civil wedding to a grand departure accompanied by fireworks. In short, if you want a wedding that will be different and exactly what you want, Kentwell should be your choice. Judith Phillips of Kentwell is directly responsible for organising and over-seeing all weddings at Kentwell and has done so since the late 1970s. You will quickly come to place confidence in her. Kentwell weddings offer something akin to old fashioned elegance. The wedding you would have at home if your home were big or grand enough.
Kentwell can accommodate up to 180 for a wedding. Up to 120 using the main rooms of the House. For larger numbers we use a marquee or the Overcroft.
All catering is done in-house but if a couple uses only the Overcroft they may use their own caterers, if they wish.
Kentwell welcomes themed weddings. Kentwell has unrivalled costume experience, having originated domestic Living History Events in the late 1970s.
