1652 country house, enlarged in 1720, 1840 and later. The site, in the continuous occupation of the family for over 900 years, includes library, home farm, outbuildings and curiosities. Of particular interest to historical and literary groups. The Belfry of 1650 now contains a 21st century chime of 16 bells. House tours for 20. Occasional music recitals and concerts. In addition to interiors ranging from 17th to 20th century there are cellars, a cobbled courtyard with well, a cobbled stable and coach yard with brewhouse and a barn with minstrels gallery. These are available for location filming and the barn for private functions.

Walled Gardens
The two extensive walled gardens, restored to original layout with box hedges are opened to the public under the National Gardens Scheme and contain many literary allusions and contemporary sculptures and works of art. Private visits may also be arranged.
