Tintinhull Court was probably started at the same time as Montacute Priory 1218. It was the Priors lodging for the church of St Margaret's Tintinhull and at that time it was church property. It then became crown property with Henry VIII and was sold to Sir William Petre, then bought by The Napper family and owned by them for 200 years. They infact built \"Tintinhull House\" as a dower house about 1600 - 1700. This is a National Trust property with the garden open to the public. The property is Grade I listed and has been under restoration for the last two years.
