Langley Priory was originally a Benedictine Nunnery founded in 1157AD by William Pantulf and his wife Burgia. The building remained a nunnery until Henry VIII's Dissolution of the Monasteries in c. 1536. Since that date, Langley Priory has been a a private home.
the house enjoys a beautiful bucolic setting consisting of gardens, a series of lakes laid out in the 1780s and a large oak tree'd park with many superb specimens dating back several hundred years. Recent additions include a tall fountain in the centre lake.
Civil Ceremony and Wedding Reception
We are licensed to hold civil wedding ceremonies in the Drawing Room of the main house. This room can seat up to 60 people, but it is equally lovely for small, intimate ceremonies. We also offer wedding receptions, with two sites in the grounds of the house on which to site a marquee - one has a seating capacity of 160, and the other is larger, with room for up to 300 guests.
