Civil Ceremony and Wedding Reception
Weddings: The magnificent reception and dining rooms display an outstanding and extensive collection of pictures, furniture and ceramics, which provide a stunning backdrop for wedding receptions, parties, lunches and dinners for both coporate and private clients.
The house has a variety of rooms which can be used for events, seating from 30 people for dinner in the elegant Great Room, 140 in the State Dining Room (which is modelled on the State Dining Room at Buckingham Palace) and up to 200 people in the impressive Picture Gallery. We are also an approved venue for marriages. There can be few other venues that can offer such versatility, amid such splendour.
In the Park there are two marquee sites, one in the Deer Park, which can be adjoined to the house and one by the ornamental dog pond with views to the beautiful stable block. Both sites can accommodate large marquees, which can take up to 1000 people for a reception and dinner.
Despite the obvious grandeur and history of the surroundings, Althorp is essentially a family home, which exudes warmth and comfort. Available only on an exclusive basis, guests are made to feel very welcome and all events are planned with great expertise and professionalism..
