Built in 1762 the present house is the third to be built by the Montgomery family on land granted by James I in 1604. Situated on the shores of Strangford Lough, overlooking the ruins of a 12th century Cistercian abbey. The house contains interesting family collections. The grounds conatin a southern hemisphere garden, herbaceous borders and a walled garden with fruit, vegetables and historic apple orchards.
