First mentioned in 1188, Wilton Castle was one of the Marches Castles that guarded the Welsh border. Nestling on the banks of the beautiful River Wye, this ancient monument has just been restored and is now open to the public. Pink stoned courtyard walls, towers, dry moat along with a ruined Elizabethan mansion, all set in 2 acres of well laid out new and old gardens, make this property a place of beauty, peace and serenity.
Open days 2011: 8th June- 31st August every Wednesday & Sunday, 12pm - 5pm.
For groups of 10 or more, including educational visits, private viewings at other times can be arranged.
