This castellated medieval manor house around two courtyards has remained unchanged since the reign of Henry VIII. It reeks of antiquity and has some of the finest untouched interiors, including the Long Gallery, Great Hall and Chapel. Sensitively restored by the 9th Duke of Rutland last century.
Features: Revived Tudor rose gardens on terraces following the contours of the building and fully realising the ideal of the 'pleasaunce garden'.
Winner of the HHA/Christie's Garden of the Year Award 1993.

Due to the age and topography of Haddon, there are many uneven floors and steps within the site. Access for visitors with disabilities and especially those using wheelchairs is very restricted. There is a 250 metre walk from the car park to the Hall, and the last section is a shallow flight of 30 steps. If anyone has a questions please get in contact with us.
Overlooking the River Wye, close to the market town of Bakewell, Haddon Hall has escaped the ravages of time. Fine examples of a medieval kitchen and 14th century long gallery. Outstanding terraced rose gardens. Popular film and television location.
