Owned and lived in by the Proby family since 1660. Classical 17th century house remodelled in 1860 with gothic additions 1790-1878. British paintings in the collection include pre-Raphaelites. The library collection includes Henry VIII's prayer book.
Features: Gardens include restored Rose Garden, knot and sunken gardens and recently planted arboretum. New gothic Orangery and Bressingham Plant Centre (in Walled Garden).
3-4 June, June-July: Wednesday & Thursday, August: Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday & Monday 27, all 2-5pm. Private groups by arrangement April-September.
