Dating back to 1545, Colliston is a fairytale castle, steeped in history. Originally built by Cardinal Beaton, the abbot of Arbroath Abbey, the castle has been owned by the Stuart family for some 60 years. Always used as a family residence throughout it's 550 year history, Colliston is the ideal venue for those who appreciate celebrating special occasions in the intimacy and comfort of a private home. Set in 60 acres of natural parkland, teeming with wildlife from red deer and red squirrels to buzzards and pheasants, Colliston is a Castle which loves a celebration and resonates to the sounds of laughter and enjoyment, the hosting of a wedding or party, or an event to mark a special occasion.

Wedding Reception Only
Colliston Castle is the perfect setting for those who are looking for a fairy tale wedding or a stunning event backdrop. Ceremonies or receptions for up to 100 can be held in the castle ballroom, before guests retire to our marquee for dinner and dancing. Receptions for up to 350 can be held in our state of the art marquee, with the Castle's stunning entrance hall available for photography. Our resident chef and her team can prepare sumptuous wedding breakfasts tailored to your specific requirements Our team are only to pleased to help you arrange photography, flowers, printers, transport and accommodation for your guests. Our resident bagpiper can play at the reception, and we can also help arrange Ceilidh with Scottish dancing or a full blown disco.
