Widely recognised as the most photographed castle in Scotland, Eilean Donan sits majestically at the point where three great lochs meet. The site has been fortified for at least 800 years and although partially destroyed during a Jacobite uprising in 1719 was lovingly restored and re-built between 1912 and 1932 by Lt Colonel John Macrae-Gilstrap. Today's castle offers a glimpse of centuries past and a flavour of life in the West Highlands.
