Ardkinglas Estate is located at the head of Loch Fyne in Argyll approximately 10 miles from Inveraray and extends to some 4800 hectares (12,000 acres). The house, gardens and policy woodland are located on the shores of Loch Fyne south of the village of Cairndow and are designated as a Designed Landscape. The Grade A listed house was commissioned by Sir Andrew Noble and designed and built in 1907 by Robert Lorimer one of Scotland's leading Arts and Crafts architects.
The house is built of locally quarried schist, the sandstone for the window, door and gable dressings came from Dullatur and it is roofed with Caithness slate.
The woodland garden has remnants of late 18th century plantings and the pinetum was extended by Lord Kinglas, Michael Noble (1913 - 84) with numerous red hybrid rhododendrons.
Ardkinglas is rightly famous for its Champion trees including a Silver Fir - \"the mighiest conifer in Europe\" and the tallest Grand Fir, over 200 feet, in Britain.

Civil Ceremony and Reception facilities
Areas licenced include rooms in the house, the terraces and under magnificent champion trees. From 30 - 90 for a ceremony inside, any number outside. Small receptions in the house, up to 40. Large receptions in a marquee on the lawn up to 120. All with glorious views over Loch Fyne.
Use of reception rooms for meetings, receptions, meals. Wi-Fi internet access and helicopter landing area. Numbers vary depending on the type of function. Secluded and private, exclusive use of the house. Please contact the Estate Office for details.
