Four-square, red sandstone mansion with turreted silhouette and sweeping forecourt towering above the Nith Valley, rebuilt by Sir William Bruce for the 1st Duke of Queensbury in 1645-88, with renowned art collection including work by Leonardo and Rembrandt, furniture from Versailles and relics of Bonnie Prince Charlie.
