Home to the Earls of Antrim for over 400 years, Glenarm Castle is today a beautiful Jacobethan style mansion set in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Although the Castle is only occasionally open to the public, the Castle’s magnificent Walled Garden is open to the public daily, from May until September. One of Ireland’s oldest walled gardens, it was originally created to supply the ‘big house’ with fresh fruit and vegetables, and is now a centre of horticultural excellence filled with exciting flowers and specimen plants to interest the keenest gardening enthusiast throughout the seasons. Visitors can also enjoy our charming Tea Room, situated within the Walled Garden.
Walled Garden: 6 April-30 September: Monday-Saturday, 10am-5pm & Sunday 12-5pm. Castle open days: 7 May, 17 June, 13-14 July, 27 August & 30 September. Please see website for further times and details.

Glenarm Castle and the Estate have featured extensively in feature films including ‘Five Minutes of Heaven’ starring Liam Neeson and James Nesbitt as well as documentaries for network television including The South Bank Show for ITV1.
In addition to the Castle, the Estate has a wonderful variety of photogenic terrain – including ancient woodland, the river, streams and waterfalls, hills and lush pasture. Glenarm’s proximity to Belfast mean that it is ideally suited to filming as well as commercial photography.
We will be introducing educational programmes in 2012.
