A 2-acre garden protected by 10-foot brick walls encloses espaliered fruit trees, herbaceous borders, roses, a lavender parterre and kitchen garden. Woodland walks around lake; fine Victorian iron bridge over river Bush.

Benvarden is an important, extensive and much admired Northern Antrim House, one of the few properties there to open its grounds to the public and now offering group visits. A long, low, complicated, attractive house, divided only by its lawn from the River Bush. Two-storey, the main block of 16 bays, with an alternation of canted and curved bays facing the river, a simple pediment added to the south (entrance) front.
