Larchfield is a 600 acre private estate set in the heart of the rolling County Down countryside. Sweeping drives lead to the country house which was originally built in 1750 by the Mussenden family and then remodelled in a Georgian style in the 1850's. A stunning location year round, Larchfield Barn and Wall Gardens are perfect for private parties, Weddings and Corporate events.

Civil Ceremony and Wedding Reception.

Larchfield Barn is located in the picturesque Main Courtyard, which was originally built in the nineteenth century. Over recent years it has been converted to its current high specification as a unique venue for private hire. Its large size (can sit up to 264 people in the main barn area) and versatility makes it ideal for a multitude of functions.

The Larchfield team are on hand to help with any contacts you may need in order to help the day and the planning run smoothly. We are available to help whenever and whatever way we can throughout the planning stages – making it a smooth process.

Main Hall - The stone walls in the Main Hall are painted -providing a natural warm ambience in the evenings. The large wooden beams crossing the hall, with wrought iron chandeliers hanging from them, create an impressive and memorable environment. Various lighting options, along with the ability to decorate the surroundings, allow for the creation of specific ambiances for differing events.

Bar and Lounge Area - Located through an arched doorway from the main hall and dance floor, the lounge area also has an entrance onto the main courtyard. The natural stone walls and the red carpet give a cosy atmosphere which can be enjoyed as a reception room on arrival or to relax in after an event in the main hall. The wooden bar has ample space to store all your glasses and drinks and provides a large bar area to serve from.

The Dance Floor – Easily accessed through arched doorways from both the main barn and the bar, it is ideal for dancing the night away, without having to deafen those in adjoining rooms! This room is also ideal for a variety of uses, as it has a solid oak floor.

Entrance Marquee – There is a marquee provided. This provides an area to meet and greet guest or for floral displays.

The Walled Gardens – The private walled gardens have been lovingly restored over many years by the current owners. They provide an elegant backdrop for functions and photography and are particularly stunning during the summer months with a profusion of colourful blossom. Brides and Grooms get access to the Fish Pond Lake for private photographs.

Bridal Room – A separate lockable room can be provided in the Main Courtyard.
