A magnificent Victorian Gothic country house, Carlton Towers has belonged to the ancestors of the Duke of Norfolk since the Norman Conquest. Currently the family home to Lord and Lady Gerald Fitzalan Howard, it is the most complete house of its type to be found today and boasts original Victorian features including three grand Staterooms and a Minstrel’s Gallery.
Carlton Towers is quintessentially English and is set within 250 acres of parkland in the beautiful Yorkshire landscape. The house is privately owned but is available all year round for weddings, social and corporate hospitality, park hire, special interest group visits and much more. It has 16 beautiful and luxuriously designed bedrooms available as part of midweek packages and private events.

Carlton Towers provides the perfect backdrop for period dramas and films. The building dates back to Jacobean times; the three-storey west wing was the original Carlton Hall in 1614 (in which lies an old chapel, numerous living quarters and five bedrooms with many large windows and original features). The long wing to the east of the main house was built 1777 and was Victorianised and gothicised in the mid-1870s. Both the property and parkland are available for filming all year round.

•‘Micawber’ 2001, starring David Jason
•‘The Darling Buds of May’ 1994 (Carlton Towers appeared as Chateau Brest in one of the episodes where the family was holidaying in France).
•A Handful of Dust 1987
The inside of the venue has also been used for the setting for music videos and various Bollywood films.
Carlton Towers actively encourages schoolchildren to visit so they can see for themselves through its rich variety of wildlife the environmental and ecological benefits of conservation.

Carlton Towers is part of a further 1500 acre estate comprising farmland and the large Carlton Lake, all surrounded by a high red brick wall. Civil Ceremonies and Wedding Receptions:
We have been hosting weddings for over 30 years and have a reputation for ensuring that every detail is simply perfect. Carlton Towers is a wonderful place for your wedding ceremony and reception whether in the house, the grounds, a marquee, or a combination of all three. It can cater for up to 200 guests and is available throughout the year.
We offer exclusive use of the venue comprising three grand state rooms spanning 150ft, 16 luxurious en-suite bedrooms, a bar, dance floor, entrance halls and grounds.
All our rooms are licensed for Civil Ceremonies although most take place in the Venetian Drawing Room.

Carlton Towers lends itself to any form of corporate or private social event and we can cater for up to 200 delegates.
Our three consecutive State Rooms are perfect for hosting product launches, presentations, company / awards dinners or large scale meetings. You can also run wild in our expansive parkland where we can cater for all sorts of outdoor team building events from woodland challenges to treasure hunts to sporting activities.
We offer various Activity Days in the park, the perfect add-on to a corporate meeting and in addition to the above the venue can also host private celebratory dinners and overnight house parties.

Carlton Towers has 16 beautiful and lavishly decorated bedrooms; 13 double, 2 twin and 1 single. 8 rooms are located in the Bachelor Wing, 5 in the Nursery Wing, 2 in the Clock Tower and the largest suite in the Baroness' Tower. Each bedroom is en-suite apart from two which have private bathrooms across the hall.
