Set in a deep Dorset valley and dominated by the Jacobean manor, the gardens run down on four levels; at the top a wide lawn leads to an Italianate 1920's topiary garden with a classical orangery; on the next level, tanks flanked by cut yew give views to the rolling hills beyond and arboretum.
