The 13th Century Manor House is the ancestral seat of the Slade family. The house can boast such visitors as Geoffrey Chaucer who wrote part of the Canterbury Tales whilst staying there. Open for weddings and house parties, corporate entertaining and tours by arrangement.

Civil Ceremony and Wedding Reception

Maunsel House is a magnificent 13th century Manor set in 100 acres of stunning parkland at the heart of a stunning parkland 2,000 acre estate, comprising of farms, lakes, woodlands, walnut groves, orchards, Somerset wetlands, cottages and ancient barns.
Our in house wedding planners can organise every detail of your day. The house has 13 fabulous bedrooms most with four poster beds. (Sleeping guests in house and cottages 48)
The house can hold up to 150 people over two rooms or using an extension marquee to the french windows in the Ballroom. For a civil wedding in the Ballroom we can cater up to 102 and outside at the bandstand is 200.
Under our roofed pergola we can seat up to 200 guests and in the marquee area 250. The evening total can cater for up to 250.

Accommodation Type: Holiday Cottage
Maunsel House has three outstanding cottages that are available for mid week breaks. They are all set in Maunsel House 100 acre parklands, with wonderful countryside all around. A romantic retreat, a relaxing break or just commuting for work, Maunsel House can be found around ten minutes off of the M5, A38 and a bit more from Taunton station.

They all have off road parking and are close to local amenities, if required.
