Home of the Fursdon family since the 13th century, enlarged in the 1730's and completed in 1815 with colonnaded front. Some early features retained. Good family costume collection, including 18th century garments. Set in parkland with small but attractive gardens.
House: Afternoons, Bank Holiday Mondays and Sundays & Wednesdays in Jun, Jul & Aug. Guided tours at 2.30 & 3.30pm. Garden and Tearoom 2-5pm. Groups welcome by prior arrangement.

Fursdon can be used as a film location. In 2008 a German film company used Fursdon for some scenes in the film adaptation of a Rosamund Pilcher novel.

The historic manor house of Fursdon, with elegant Jacobean and Regency interior is an ideal location for half day group visits between March and September. When possible you will be welcomed by a member of the family before your experienced guide tells you about local history and shows you family memorabilia, furniture and paintings. After your tour you can stroll in the picturesque gardens with stunning views and there is delicious home baking in the Coach Hall tearoom, warmed by an open fire on cool days.
There is a reduction in ticket price for groups of 20 or more and a number of options are available. See website for details. Fursdon offers a beautiful location for wedding receptions. These are held in a marquee in the grounds with use of the main rooms of the house for a receiving line and drinks reception if wanted.
The Coach Hall can be used for meetings, seminars etc and will accommodate up to 50.

Fursdon House has self catering accommodation - two stylish private apartments, The Park Wing and The Garden Wing, which sleep 6 and 3 respectively. These have recently won a Gold Star Award from Visit England on top of their 4 star status.
