Built by Sir Walter Raleigh in 1594, Sherborne Castle has been home of the Digby family since 1617. Set in 40 acres of glorious 'Capability' Brown landscaped gardens and grounds around his 50 acre lake, the Castle contains a splendid collection of art, furniture and porcelain.

Castle, Gardens, Gift Shop and Tea-Room are open daily, except Mondays and Fridays (open on Bank Holiday Mondays), between 11.00am and 4.30pm (last admission)

Sherborne Castle was built by Sir Walter Raleigh in 1594 but has been in ownership of the same family since 1617. Splendid collection of art, furniture and porcelain on display. Landscaped garden designed by Lancelot \"Capability\" Brown. We cater for groups interested in the pictures, porcelain and furniture during the open season and this could be arranged when the castle is closed.
