Enjoy Forde Abbey's award winning 30 acre informal garden where there is always something of beauty and interest to see; from carpets of springtime bulbs, through vibrant summer borders to the wonderful colours of the arboretum in autumn. Even in winter, when the architectural features of the garden such as the ionic temple, statuary and cascade of lakes come to the fore, the garden remains outstanding. View all of these against the backdrop of the Centenary Fountain, at 160ft the highest powered fountain in England, and the house itself. Delight in the magnificent 850 year old family home complete with the ornate Mortlake tapestries amongst other treasures. Delicious homemade lunches and cakes available with gift shop, plant centre, pottery exhibition and forge.

Civil Ceremony and Wedding Reception

Celebrate your Wedding Day against the stunning backdrop of this stately medieval home. The classic elegance of the building and the loveliness of the surrounding grounds combine to provide an event to be remembered. For a civil ceremony choose from the grandeur of the Great Hall, with its magnificent 16th century panelled ceiling, and the more intimate setting of the Monks Refectory. For the following reception the graceful arches of the 12th century Undercroft offer a truly romantic finale to your day, while the beautiful gardens and the warm sandstone of the flower-lined Cloisters afford endless possibilities for your photographs. With spacious lawns for a marquee there are facilities availabe to meet your requirements.
