Beaulieu

Palace House has been home to Lord Montagu's family since 1538 when it was converted from the great gatehouse of the Cistercian abbey founded in 1204, and further enlarged in the 19th century - keeping most of its monastic features, including the graceful 14th century rib vaulting.



Features: Walks in the grounds, an outstanding spring flower display, the new Victorian Garden and paths along the Beaulieu River adjoining the National Motor Museum, founded in memory of Lord Montagu's father, a pioneer motorist.
