BBC Bargain Hunt and ever-erudite Tim Wonnacott spent a fascinating day filming Upstairs and Downstairs at Stansted Park in November. Tim travelled in the 1901 Otis lift, enjoyed a close look at some of the beautiful tapestries and silver in the collection, and discovered stories they told about the family, the servants, and the history of the mansion.

The resulting short films will be shown in four programmes on BBC1 in the spring, and the dates for the broadcasts of the programmes that feature Stansted Park have just been announced: February 10th and 20th; March 2nd and 7th. If you have access to BBCi player you will be able to watch at any time.

Bargain Hunt is on BBC1 weekdays at 12.15pm – 1pm and is also broadcast across the world: across the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand in prime time. We look forward to welcoming lots of those overseas visitors when Stansted Park re-opens in April!

Stansted House and Chapel are open April – May on Sundays and Bank Holidays.
From June-September on Sundays to Wednesdays 1pm - 5pm (last adm. 4pm)
The Stansted Maze is open weekends, Wednesdays and school holidays from February half term-October 11-4pm
