This April, a new collection of holiday rentals, the Holkham Lodges’, will launch within the parkland of one of the UK’s finest and most recognisable Palladian stately homes – Holkham Hall, Norfolk. Available to book through luxury holiday cottage rental agency, Barefoot Retreats, the historical portfolio features four unique properties, including The Triumphal Arch, Palmers Lodge, Palmers Folly and South Lodge. Each property has been completely renovated to create a contemporary self-catering retreat sleeps two guests, is dog friendly and provides guests with privacy, seclusion and beautiful countryside to explore.
Just a short walk from each lodge, guests can enjoy all the attractions of Holkham. These include the hall, the Courtyard Café and Gift Shop, the interactive Field to Fork Experience; all about food and farming at Holkham, the 18th century Walled Garden as well as the estate-owned Victoria Inn.
Nearby, the dog friendly Beach Café at Wells-next-the-Sea is a perfect stop-off after a stroll along the north Norfolk coastline. Fantastic walking and cycling routes are right on the doorstep of each lodge, offering guests the opportunity to discover the 25,000 acre estate, part of which is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Holkham also has a spectacular calendar of events throughout the year to suit all ages including the three-day family friendly cycling festival, Pedal Norfolk, an outdoor concert starring Tom Jones, open air cinema, a new exhibition in the hall entitled ‘What the Butler Saw’, as well as many other exciting seasonal events and activities.
