Nearly three dozen privately owned historic houses, members of the Historic Houses Association, will be opening free during Heritage Open Days which take place between Thursday 9th and Sunday 12th September. These houses, castles, gardens and estates, some of which are not generally open to the public, will be welcoming visitors with special openings and tours.
Heritage Open Days, co-ordinated by English Heritage, celebrates England's fantastic architecture and culture by offering free access to properties that are usually closed to the public or normally charge for admission.
