This September, Weston Park, the stately home on the Shropshire / Staffordshire border will welcome figurative artist Kay Boyce for a selling exhibition of recent works in the Granary Art Gallery.
Kay is among the UK’s top living artists and has been selected for Solomen and Whithead’s Best Published Artist for four years. Well known as an illustrator her work has carried her through to major book publishers including Hodder & Staughton, Wadsworth Romantics and Mills & Boon amongst others.
Kay’s career as an artist has flourished; her pastels and pencil drawings have become instantly recognisable and her work has graced private collections for years – including a project for RADA which included portraits of 23 leading actors and actresses with the final works assessed by Lord Attenborough.
Kay’s delicate use of pastels and love of antique clothes and fabrics lend a soft feminine quality to her work which appeals to men and women alike. Kay says of her work: “It is time consuming, intense, emotional and rewarding.”
Gareth Williams, Curator to the Weston Park Foundation comments: “We are privileged to host this exhibition of Kay’s work in the Granary Art Gallery. Kay ranks amongst the best living exponents of figurative work. Her work has a supremely ethereal quality to it and I have no doubt that this exhibition will appeal to a very wide audience.”
Kay Boyce’s Exhibition will run throughout September in the Granary Art Gallery from 11am – 4pm. Free Entry.
